It is always nice to take in those things we see every day but take for granted. I am most definitely guilty of it..but today I decided to end my day at the East River by myself. I watched the sun set over the city, and I just breathed in and out. It was kind of beautiful, and I kind of got frustrated with myself all of the sudden. I started thinking about things that have been pressing my mind lately and the so called "problems" I thought I had. The problems that I think I have aren't really that bad..if anything they are actually things that I can prevent from getting hurt by. Probably the first time I knew what was going on and that I have an alternative solution to the situation. For the first time in a long time I don't have to go through what I think is going to be amazing to then find out I just got the shitty end of the stick...as per usual. I am sure you are thinking YOU GO GIRL...and take the high road!
Sad part is....I find myself still wanting it....
That in itself is me being completely selfish. I am being given a sign to actually not go right but go left, but then I hear that naive/always want what you can't have/think that you are "the girl" this time that will change his mind......haha YEA RIGHT. Let's be realistic Emma! In this situation it will end like it always does...they will always choose the other option.
I have realized that it actually pays off to take the smarter option in this case. It is true you always want what you can't have, but if you never appreciate what you do have then NOTHING will ever be good enough. I can't imagine having a guy or a future job opportunity put into my life and not taking it, but thinking man there has to be something better out there...well truth is yea there probably is, but this little something will be what gets us to that something better. I know I started this off about a guy but it kind of works in everyday life as well. We are all given multiple opportunities to become a better person every day and getting that much closer to our dreams if we just take our headphones out and pay attention a little. It is as simple as holding a door for someone or sitting down in a coffee shop and making simple conversation with the person next to you could open up a million opportunities. I meet people everyday and end up telling them about my blog and how I am trying to make my dreams come true in this huge city called NYC. Many people come here for the same dream but a lot get swallowed up too. Whether it's a guy or choosing to focus on other things rather then the reason you are actually here in the first place.
If things are "bad" or "hard" then just move on. There is no reason to let that thing control the rest of your life and not let you live it how you once dreamt it to be. If I know one thing it's hard to move forward when your hanging on to the past. The nice thing about it is that set back can be your greatest comeback and sometimes you may feel like your constantly being knocked down but your aren't knocked out! So let those things that once hurt you and let them make you that much stronger instead. I believe we are put in crappy situations to learn from them and to prepare us for something amazing one day.
My anthem in my head everyday is "One day this will all be worth it.."
We all need to be encouraged. Encouragement leaves courage into people. So let's take time even when you may be feeling down to lift someone else up. You won't believe how awesome it will make you feel...so hold that door for someone and make that boy WORK for it. If he is still around after the so called "thrill of the chase" then it is the kind of love that is true.
This quotes says it perfectly..
"The more you are motivated by love, the more fearless and free your action will be."
Ok no more of that serious talk! I could go on forever but sometimes we need that serious stuff...well actually that "realistic" stuff.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, would love to hear what you all are going to be doing....I for one wish I was attending Coachella :( One day...one day..but I am going to be seeing some friends from school and a lot of brunch will be happening so that means A LOT of pictures coming your way soon!
